Former OMGI manager Message joins LGIM

Stephen Message, former manager of the Old Mutual UK Equity Income fund, has joined L&G Investment Management (LGIM) as a fund manager in the global income team.

Last December, Professional Adviser's sister title Investment Week reported Message had left Old Mutual Global Investors following a review of the mandate, which was handed to Ed Meier. Message (pictured) had run the Old Mutual UK Equity Income fund since December 2009. At the time of his departure, AUM on the fund was £210m but this has since fallen to £170m, according to FE. A statement from an LGIM spokesperson said:  "Stephen joined the global income team as of yesterday as a fund manager with a focus on UK income strategies."
