The help to buy ISA has proved to be popular among savers, as more than 62,000 homes were purchased since its launch, with £54m in bonuses being paid out by the scheme.

According to the latest figures from HMRC, the savings product assisted the completion of 62,528 properties since its launch on 1 December 2015. The highest proportion of completions was in the North West; Yorkshire and the Humber; and the South West, with a lower proportion recorded in the North East and Northern Ireland. However, the figures do not include those who have an existing help to buy ISA and have not yet claimed a bonus for their house purchase, so they don't represent the total number of Help to Buy ISAs.
