Ann Harris named new chair of TPAS

Until body merges with MAS and Pension Wise next year

Ann Harris has been appointed permanent chair of The Pensions Advisory Service (TPAS) by pensions minister Richard Harrington.

Harris (pictured) will head up TPAS for the duration of its life prior to the creation of a single guidance body for pensions, money and debt matters which will replace TPAS, including Pension Wise and the Money Advice Service (MAS) in 2018. Harris took over the role from former chairman Museji Mako who, according to BBC News, stood down from his position late last year after being declared bankrupt. Mako had been appointed by the Department for Work and Pensions earlier that year, which at the time described him as "a champion of savers." Harris worked for 40 years as a civil servant...
