New ISA glitch means savers could lose £2k government bonus The timing of the associated bonus payments could rob people of up to £1,900 of their government bonus if they transfer their savings from the Help to Buy ISA into the Lifetime ISA (LISA) in the first year of the new scheme, according to this Telegraph article. The LISA offers those under the age of 40 a 25% government bonus on a maximum of £4,000 worth of savings a year either to buy their first property or use as retirement funds.
