Russ Oxley exits OMGI after one year

Absolute return manager Russ Oxley is leaving Old Mutual Global Investors after joining the group just over a year ago from Ignis Asset Management.

Oxley (pictured) joined OMGI in April 2015 with his team from Ignis and launched an Absolute Return Government Bond fund in October 2015 which was seeded with £100m. The product quickly gained assets, it surpassed £500m in the first two months but is now £446m in size.  A statement from the group said Oxley will depart with immediate effect: "Old Mutual Global Investors, part of Old Mutual Wealth, announces that, as a consequence of a difference in opinion regarding future strategic direction, Russ Oxley will leave the business with immediate effect.
