FTSE 100 'strong performance' boosts structured product returns

All FTSE 100-linked structured products which matured in the third quarter of this year have delivered returns or broken even, according to research.

Data from Lowes Financial Management's StructuredProductReview.com showed of the 75 FTSE 100 structured product maturities, 66 returned a gain, while nine returned capital only. The average annual return of products solely linked to the FTSE 100 was 6.46% over an average term of 4.19 years. The top 25% made 9.15% over 3.89 years, while the bottom quarter made 4.29% over an average term of 4.71 years. In contrast, the average annual return of products linked to a measurement outside the FTSE 100 was 5.37% over an average term of 3.51 years. Their top 25% made 10.25% over one year...
