The information watchdog is to investigate claims pension data is being sold to fraudsters and cold-callers for as little at 5p without consent, according to reports.

The Daily Mail states millions of people’s pensions data is being sold to third parties ahead of pensions freedom on 6 April. The Information Commissioner’s Office said the reports were “very worrying”, adding it would speak to financial services regulators and the police.
