Govt attacked over delay of MAS report

The government has come under fire for delaying the publication of its report into the Money Advice Service (MAS), with some suggesting the report was deliberately hidden before the upcoming general election.

Consumer site MoneySavingExpert called on the Treasury to publish the report before a House of Lords debate on the service scheduled for 12 March. The report's author Christine Farnish said it had been submitted back in December and that she was "puzzled" by the delay of publication. She said it had undertaken "significant analysis" of available evidence and reached a "number of important conclusions".
