SFO probes green investment company

The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has opened a criminal investigation into an alleged fraud involving investments in teak plantations in Brazil.

The two companies under the spotlight are called Global Forestry Investments and Global Forex Investments. As part of the investigation, the SFO, in conjunction with the City of London Police, today executed search warrants at two addresses in the south east of England. Global Foresttry Investments, which claimed to be an ethical investment company, is part of a company called GFI Consultants, now in liquidation. GFI Consultants was set up by Andrew Skeene and Omari Bowers in April 2010, according to Companies House. The company has never been regulated and is not authorised to ...
