CII to launch new retirement exam unit

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is to launch a new voluntary exam for advisers wanting to prove their competence around the new pension rules.

The body, which is the parent of adviser trade body the Personal Finance Society, plans to launch the unit, which will include a one hour online exam, when the pension changes come into force in April. The QCF Level 4 exam will test advisers on their knowledge of the new rules and how they apply in practice. The CII expects to see high demand from advisers for the course.
