Ex-financial adviser Alok Dhanda has pleaded guilty to a total of 24 counts of fraud in relation to an alleged Ponzi scheme.
Newcastle Crown Court confirmed Dhanda had pleaded guilty to the charges and will be sentenced on 19 December. He previously admitted 13 counts of fraud on 22 September but has now admitted to a further 11 counts. The case emerged in April when the Newcastle paper the Evening Chronicle reported Dhanda appeared before magistrates charged with being involved in a £600,000 Ponzi scam linked to a property venture in India.
