Lloyds expected to cut another 9,000 jobs

Lloyds is expected to cut a tenth of its entire workforce, amounting to around 9,000 jobs, in a digital push over the next three years.

The taxpayer-backed bank intends to close branches and dramatically cut the number of staff as part of a new three-year plan devised by chief executive Antonio Horta-Osorio, according to reports. The lender has already cut tens of thousands of jobs during the finacial crisis and is prepare to annouce further cuts next week as it moves to a greater focus on digital technology.
