Webb confirms NEST limits will go in 2017

Pensions minister Steve Webb has confirmed that restrictions on the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) will be abolished in April 2017.

This follows the European Commission's (EC) decision to approve the lifting of the annual contribution cap of £4,500 and the ban on bulk transfers in or out of the master trust. It was feared that an unconstrained NEST would be challenged by the EC over rules that restrict state funding for companies operating in the public sector.
