Economic growth triggers stock boom in midcaps

The UK's mid-cap companies are enjoying rapid growth in both revenues and profit, as they become the chief beneficiaries of the country's economic recovery.

The like-for-like revenue of FTSE 250 constituents rose overall by 3.3% in the three months to the end of March, compared with the same period a year ago, according to a report published by The Share Centre today, the Telegraph reports. With the International Monetary Fund forecasting that the UK's growth will be the fastest of any advanced economy this year, mid-caps have been well placed to reap the benefits of rising demand.
