AMPS names MacGillivray as next chairman

The Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes (AMPS) has appointed James Hay's Neil MacGillivray as chairman with immediate effect.

MacGillivray, who is head of technical support for the self-invested personal pension (SIPP) provider, replaces Barnett Waddingham partner Andrew Roberts, who is stepping down after two years in the role. The AMPS committee commended Roberts for his work as chairman which included working with and HM Revenue & Customs and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) with a focus on capital adequacy requirements.
