IFA seeking 'lower costs and more freedom' exits network to go DA

Jones Hill managing director Brian Hill has said he is going directly authorised (DA) after years with networks because he wants ‘more freedom' and lower costs.

Hill is currently with Paradigm Financial Advisers but is leaving later this year because he doesn't want to be "ruled by the lowest common denominator", which he said is the standard network model. "The current checklist for retirement options from Paradigm runs to 23 pages. I understand it is to protect their backs and ours and they have to apply it to everyone but it is a lot of hoops to jump through," he said.
