Managing director of protection to leave Aviva

Aviva managing director of protection Richard Verdin is to leave the insurer by the end of the year.

Verdin, who is also chairman of the Association of British Insurer's protection committee, has been in his role at Aviva since October 2008.  Prior to this he was sales and marketing director for Direct Life and Pension Services between July 2002 and September 2008.  A spokeswoman for Aviva said: "We are sorry to announce that Richard Verdin has decided to leave Aviva. Richard has had a successful five years in charge of our protection business, strengthening the proposition and building a great team and reputation for Aviva in the industry.
