Law Society: don't get 'mugged' by an insurer

The Law Society has launched a consumer campaign to highlight the importance of using a solicitor when fighting insurance claims.

The advertising campaign led by the legal body is entiteld "Don't get mugged by an insurer - use a solicitor", and seeks to promote the value of using a solicitor to get legal advice. Financial Services Authority (FSA) research - now the Financial Conduct Authority - suggests that consumers are up to three times better off when turning down an insurer's initial offer for their personal injury claim and seeking advice from a solicitor instead, the Law Society has said.
