Germany hit by agonies of eurozone shrinking by 0.6% in final quarter of 2012

The German economy crashed at the end of last year as the crisis in the eurozone spread to the heart of the region.

Official figures from Eurostat showed the eurozone economy shrank by 0.6 per cent in the final quarter of 2012, the Daily Mail reports. It was the worst reading since early 2009 and marked the first time that the region has failed to grow in a year since the introduction of the single currency.
