US unclaimed assets firm launches in UK

One of America's largest companies which reunites investors with their lost investments has launched in the UK to tap into the estimated £70bn of unclaimed financial assets.

The vast majority of the unclaimed assets for UK investors currently sit within life and pension policies although a growing number are in the funds industry. Boston-based Unclaimed Property Recovery & Reporting (UPRR) has established a separate company in London called Rightful Owners which offers investors a free service to trace lost assets. Once it has found the asset, the investors can choose to deal directly with the product provider or use Rightful Owners to reclaim the asset for a fee of between 10% and 20% of the current value.
