Nucleus names non-exec director as MD

Online wrap Nucleus has hired Stuart Geard, one of the group's non-executive directors and currently finance director at Sanlam UK, as its managing director.

Geard, who has shelved plans to return to South Africa to begin the role next month, will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, reporting to founder and CEO David Ferguson. He previously worked for Sanlam (Corporate Finance) in Cape Town for five years before relocating to the UK in 2005. He became a board member of most of Sanlam Group's businesses in the UK, including that of Nucleus. Geard replaces John McNeil. who was appointed to the newly-created role in January.
