Friends Life new business up 8%

Friends Life increase new business in the last three months with total sales on reaching £292m - up 8% on the same period last year, results released today show.

UK sales were up to £197m, compared to £172m in March last year. It said this was driven by the inclusion of Winterthur Life UK in November 2011. Excluding Winterthur, sales increase to £177m. International business "remained depressed", its said, due to the current economic environment.
