With about five months to go until auto-enrolment begins just under 70% of employees remain unaware they will be affected by the changes, Aviva research has found.
The firm’s Working Lives Report found while 70% of bosses were aware of the reforms 68% of employees had little or no knowledge of automatic enrolment. The poll of more than 2,000 workers and 210 employers found 43% of employees without a pension at present would remain in a scheme after enrolment, however, opt-outs it warned could still be significant. Aviva said employers expected about a third of their workforce to opt-out.
