FSA drafts former Lazard vice chair as bank adviser

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has appointed a former vice chairman of Lazard & Co as its investment banking sernior adviser.

Will Samuel will take up the role from 30 January, having also previously held senior positions at Citigroup and Schroders Salomon Smith Barney. Hector Sants, the FSA's chief executive officer, said: "Will brings to his role considerable experience of the investment banking sector which will be vital to our work in this area. "Senior advisors are a core part of the FSA's delivery of intensive supervision. The team provides experience on regulatory, market and consumer matters."
