Former financial adviser jailed for driving wrong way along M5

A former financial adviser has been jailed for nine months for driving 23 miles the wrong way down a motorway drunk.

Deborah Hunt, of Langport, Somerset, was over the alcohol limit and was also driving without insurance when she committed the offence on 14 July. The 43-year-old claimed she was suffering from alcoholism and stress caused by her unemployment and an ongoing battle with her former husband over custody of their children, the Daily Mail reports. Hunt was caught on CCTV as she drove for at least 20 minutes in the southbound overtaking lane of the M5 after doing a U-turn in the carriage near Junction 24 for Bridgwater.
