HSBC bank wrongly imprisoned a customer and harrassed her with hundreds of phone calls, a judge has ruled.
A staff member of the bank would not allow Josephine Lewis to leave an interview room at its Wootton Bassett branch after she had visited to complain about its overdraft fees in October 2008, writes the BBC. At a civil case hearing at Swindon County Court, judge Tacey Cronin ruled that Lewis's overdraft of £2,070 should now be cancelled as HSBC had failed to meet its contractual obligations to her.
