Merchant House is looking to become a market leader in the IFA space after acquiring assets and advisers from Clarkson Hill and is currently holding acquisition talks with another IFA firm.
Group chairman of Merchant House Group, James Holmes, says its subsidiary and new financial services venture Merchant House Financial Services (MHFS) has taken on 100 ex-Clarkson Hill advisers and is looking to bring on board a further 40. He also said MHFS has acquired "nearly all" of the assets from Bridge Business Recovery LLP - the administrator to Clarkson Hill - it wishes to purchase, including its offices, certain commission debtors, the right to its name, furniture and equipment.
