Transact's Malcolm Murray thinks new players will enter the platform fold in 2011 - a year which could see the banking community grab a slice of the market.

Despite some figures predicting more players will exit the market in the wake of Macquarie's demise, Transact's head of marketing (pictured) thinks new names will join the fray either by launching new wraps or acquiring existing outfits. "Everyone acknowledges now a platform is probably essential to be competitive in retail distribution of investments and I would be surprised if big names stay out of the market," says Murray.
