Treasury Committee calls on FSA to make RBS report public

The Treasury Select Committee (TSC) has written to FSA chairman Adair Turner asking him to make the findings of the investigation into bailed-out RBS public.

TSC chairman Andrew Tyrie MP wants Turner to produce a summary of the investigation which could be released with RBS' consent. The FSA says it is unable to publish the findings of its probe into the collapse and subsequent taxpayer bail-out of RBS due to rules under the  Financial Services and Markets Act (FSMA). FSMA restricts publication of details relating to individuals without their consent, which RBS has not given.
