Brett Williams quits Cofunds

Cofunds chief executive Brett Williams has quit the platform with immediate effect with chairman Charlie Eppinger resuming the CEO role on an interim basis.

Eppinger stepped aside as CEO in 2008 to welcome Williams and is returning to the role until a permanent replacement is found. Threadneedle chairman Simon Davies will take over from Eppinger as Cofunds chairman. Williams, founding CEO of Selestia, joined Cofunds from Skandia in January 2009, where he headed up the group's UK business. His time at Cofunds was full of drama including a highly publicised spat with fund groups following renegotiations on rebates, an open challenge to the life companies and a link-up with OBSR that also brought its own controversy.
