Advisers call on FSA to give greater weight to CPD

The FSA should give more emphasis to ongoing skill development and CPD when it assesses if firms are meeting Training & Competence requirements, advisers urge.

Research commissioned by the regulator also found firms would welcome greater detail on how the T&C regime could be met but would not want a return to the previous prescriptive approach. They call on the FSA to give greater weight to the application of skills and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) rather than just focusing on qualifications.
