Advisers give coalition cautious thumbs-up

Advisers think the coalition government is positive - although doubts remain over its ability to deliver on key issues including taxation.

In an online survey by Sun Life Financial of Canada of 245 IFAs, 61% are confident the Cameron-led coalition "is good news for the adviser market". Advisers are also confident the Government can steer the country out of economic turbulence, with 49% optimistic and 14% very optimistic Cameron and Clegg will guide the UK to recovery. In a further boost to the new Government, only 25% of IFAs think Conservative and Liberal Democrat policies are too divergent to benefit the industry. Just 5% view the coalition as "very bad news".
