AIFA pays tribute to director Ian Thorneycroft

The Association of IFAs today paid tribute to "outstanding" council member Ian Thorneycroft, who died following a 15-month battle with cancer at the weekend.

Thorneycroft, also founding managing director of SimplyBiz Services, died in his sleep on Sunday night. AIFA director general Chris Cummings says: "Ian was an outstanding AIFA council member and a strong advocate for independent financial advice. He will be missed by all those who knew him and the industry is the poorer for his passing. "Ian joined Council in 2006 and remained an active and deeply involved member until the last few months of his illness.
