Pensions chief to head FSA's new consumer education body

The FSA has appointed Pensions Regulator chief Tony Hobman as head of the newly created Consumer Financial Education Body (CFEB).

Hobman will step down as chief executive of the Pensions Regulator on 14 May to take up his role at the body soon after. He has held several positions within the financial services arena, including a 20-year stint at Barclays Bank. Hobman was also chief executive of ProShare, the Money Channel plc and the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority. The CFEB, established by the Financial Services Act, was created to improve consumer understanding of, and confidence in, financial services.
