IFAs favour UK and EM equities for 2010

UK equities, emerging markets, global equities and income funds are the top four asset classes IFAs expect to be recommending to clients this year.

Next on the recommendation list are UK commercial property, absolute return and European equities, according to a survey of over 1000 IFAs at the Joint Investment Forum 2010. UK equities retains its top spot for the second year running, with 68% of IFAs selecting this asset class in 2009 and 2010. In a reversal of last year, emerging markets is joint first on 68%, despite not polling a single vote in 2009.
