One in five company pension scheme savers say they would be more likely to save for retirement if their pot was protected by guarantees, according to MetLife.
A survey by the firm suggests many savers are concerned about the performance of their company scheme, and many are put off joining through fear of their investments losing value. According to MetLife's survey, 18% of employees would be encouraged to join their company scheme if an investment guarantee was in place, rising to 23% among workers aged 18 to 24. Almost half of current pension scheme members say they would feel reassured by an investment guarantee on their pension fund.
