Advice firms that give most of their staff clearly-defined job roles are more profitable than those that do not, research suggests.

A study conducted by business consultancy FP Advance found firms where more than half of staff had clear job roles and responsibilities made £35k ‘per principal' more each year than those firms that place less importance on job descriptions. "Having a team of people around you who clearly understand both what is expected of them and how they contribute to the success of the business is crucial," FP Advance managing director Steve Billingham says.
