Steer returns to Skandia Strategic Best Ideas

Tim Steer will take over the Artemis portion of Skandia's UK Strategic Best Ideas fund, five months after losing his mandate following his departure from New Star.

Steer, who joined Artemis at the end of June, will replace John Wood on the mandate. It follows last week's announcement Cazenove's Neil Pegrum has been appointed to run a Strategic Best Ideas mandate, bringing the overall number of managers up from eight to nine. "We are delighted that we are able to bring Tim back into the fold," Skandia Investment Group senior fund manager Ryan Hughes says. "He is a fund manager with a proven track record and one which will, I am sure, ensure Artemis continues to make a positive contribution to overall performance."
