Small business owners are too afraid to make redundancies for fear of being sued, according to new research.
The study comes at a time when redundancies have hit the IFA sector hard. We reported in Professional Adviser last week that more than 40 advisers are jostling for a single position. However, with limits on awards for unfair dismissal and redundancy payments increasing earlier this year, the research from business insurers Premierline Direct shows many employers are worried about the potential financial consequences of redundancies.
