Dozens of advisers jostling for single job

More than 40 advisers are battling for a single position as competition for IFA jobs intensifies in the recession.

Large, national advice firms are seeing record numbers of applicants for adviser roles, and say job seekers need to ensure they are RDR-proofed if they want to find work. Figures from adviser jobs portal, advisercareers.com, show large numbers of IFAs are now looking for work. Jonathan Cooney, commercial manager at advisercareers.com, says: "Just one year after we launched, we are seeing almost 70 advisers uploading their details each month, with upwards of 40 applicants for every direct vacancy advertised."
