RAB Capital to launch global mining fund

ABSOLUTE return asset manager RAB Capital has announced the planned launch of the RAB Global Mining and Resources fund, which will be led by RAB chief executive Philip Richards.

RAB Global Mining and Resources will trade mid- and large-cap equities long and short, with at least 90pc of the portfolio invested in companies with a market capitalisation of over $1bn and 50pc invested in companies with a market capitalisation of over $10bn. The fund will focus on the metals and mining sectors but the mandate also extends to other types of natural resources companies with the ability to hedge through futures and physical commodities.
