IN its response to the RDR, the British Bankers' Association (BBA) has mooted the case for assisted purchase distribution.
The trade association has called for a new retail distribution landscape which would see the introduction of this new distribution category for financial products, negating the initial input of advisers, whereby customers are either guided towards an appropriate solution for specific financial needs or referred onwards for further information. The BBA believes that together with enhanced advice services, this would enable the industry to deliver more effective solutions for consumers with more easily-understood services and charges.
