THE oil sector has been underinvested for a long time according to analysts at Investec.
Adrian Jackson and Bradley George believe the sector has not received enough backing, and they urged investors to take an active approach to make the most of the long-term price rise in the commodity. Jackson said: “The basic fact is that the oil sector has been chronically underinvested in over a long period.” A short-term supply surge caused by several years of high prices stimulating investment had caused prices to fall, according to Jackson.
