FSA hires new director of financial capability

THE Financial Services Authority (FSA) has appointed Chris Pond to the newly created position of director of financial capability.

Pond, who was MP for Gravesham between 1997 and 2005 and a Minister at the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) between 2003 and 2005, will take up his post in December. In recent years, he has served on the FSA’s Working Group on Families and the Steering Group on Financial Capability and is also part of the Thoresen Review Reference Group.
