Investors switch to stocks and shares ISAs

Investors are increasingly switching from cash ISAs to stocks and shares ISAs in order to achieve a higher return.

A Hargreaves Lansdown survey reveals an almost tenfold increase in transfer requests of this kind in recent weeks. The research compared ISA behaviour from the end of November to 9 December 2008 with the period from the end of December 2008 to 9 January 2009. It found clients are transferring mainly to corporate bond funds as yields in excess of 6% appear increasingly attractive.
