THE FSA has published a policy statement and handbook text that meets the deadline for changing over to the Markets in Financial Instrument Directive rules (MiFID).
The EU deadline for FSA-regulated firms and markets was January 31 2007. The switch-on date for MiFID and the new handbook text is November 1 2007 allowing a nine-month period following transposition for financial institutions to complete their plans for implementation of the new MiFID requirements.
