Private equity tops alternative vote

PRIVATE equity is now the most popular form of alternative investment, according to a survey from Trustnet.

The company found the investment community now favours the asset class over other non-mainstream options, including hedge funds and collectibles such as classic cars or art. Given a number of choices, 38pc of respondents opted to go down the private equity route.
