THE Association of Investment Companies (AIC) has urged the FSA to rethink its new minimum standards regime for
offshore investment companies to protect investors. The call came in response to FSA proposals to allow offshore investment companies to gain a full listing on the London Stock Exchange by a new route which bypasses 120 pages of regulation. Daniel Godfrey, director general of the AIC, said there are dangers of allowing some companies the prestige of a London listing without any of the necessary regulatory standards which protect investors’ interests.
