Royal Bank of Scotland has launched two 5-year structured products that provide 100% capital protection and are actively managed to invest in markets while they are rising and reduce exposure when they trend downward.
RBS is claiming the Autopilot Plan and the Navigator Plan are significantly different from current offerings in the market and could change the nature of structured products in the UK. While most products tend to passively follow an index for five years the Autopilot Plan and the Navigator Plan use moving averages to track sectors and will rebalance the portfolios' exposure to sectors based on whether they are trending up or down.
