Schroder UK Equity toasts outperformance

THE Schroder UK Equity Fund has returned 11.51pc over the last 12 months, compared with 9.31pc from the FTSE All Share, thus achieving its objective of outperforming its benchmark by 2pc.

The fund aims to achieve consistent, low-risk, capital growth by investing in UK companies with strong profits growth prospects. It combines bottom-up stock selection to generate high alpha, with portfolio construction to maintain low volatility. The fund manager, Simon Brazier, said: “When I took over the fund in June 2006, I wanted to take full advantage of Schroders’ research capabilities and make the fund less index-constrained.
